Data Access Committee
AS INDIGENOUS PEOPLE WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO HOUSE OUR INFORMATION, TO CONTROL WHO HAS ACCESS TO IT, AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR.
At Data Access Committee meetings, members go through internal processes to fairly review Data Access Requests (DAR) that are submitted by those seeking to do any kind of research in the community, at a minimum of seven days prior to the next upcoming DAC meeting. If the Committee is interested in the DAR, they will set up a meeting with the requester to review additional screening questions.
